My two favorite things! Jon & Pizza!
I don’t know why I had such low expectations for pizza in such a classy hotel. The Jasmine Lounge at the Fairmont Southampton has always been a great place to grab a drink after dinner at any of the lovely restaurants on the property. We were at a cocktail hour for the Newport Gastropub and decided to grab a drink and a lite bite early into the evening.
They serve pricey flatbread pizzas along with a relatively extensive menu in the lounge. Jon & I shared the margherita flatbread. When it arrived, it looked like any other standard flatbread with the added touch of fresh mozzarella. I was SO surprised and pleased when I took my first bite.
I cannot even describe the multitude of flavors that we tasted. It was cooked near to perfection with crunchy edges and the mouthwatering mozzarella melted in my mouth. I don’t know how else to describe it. We were both happy with the flatbread and I would recommend it over most of the other pizzas on the island!
